M/S. Fakhor Uddin Ali Ahmed & Brothers was founded in late 1977. The company was founded by four brothers Mr. Fakhor Uddin Ali Ahmed, Mr. Salah Uddin Ali Ahmed, Mr. Fatah Uddin Ali Ahmed & Mr. Foyez Hasan Ferdous. All of them come from the same family, so the bonding among them is very strong which played a major role for the success of this company. They family has also been awarded `Korbahadur Family’ of Sylhet in 2017. Fakhor Uddin Ali Ahmed, Salah Uddin Ali Ahmed and Falah Uddin Ali Ahmed also were awarded the highest Tax payer of Sylhet in different years. Fakhor Uddin Ali Ahmed served as a CIP for the country and Salah Uddin Ali Ahmed was also awarded to be CIP for last four years.
The company have had involved themselves in many businesses, it had a Textile Mill named Taizin textiles, which was running very smoothly until the company have decided to wind up the business in late 2003. This was converted to Taizin Auto Clean afterwards. Initially they had the largest distributorship in Sylhet of big companies like Fresh, Horlicks of Glaxo Smith Kline, Raibina Juice, Natures Dairy, leading powder milk brand in Bangladesh called Dano, and many more; they have a very good reputation since the start of their business. They started off from a small idea with distributorship of cement and iron rod.
In 1990 the brothers reached a milestone and started trading coal and soon they became the largest importer of coal in Bangladesh, under the same name M/S Fakhor Uddin Ali Ahmed They are very well-known for their good mutation and quality. They mainly import from different countries like India, South Africa, Russia, Indonesia and Australia and supply them throughout the country. They have client and offices all over Bangladesh.
Later in 1997 they opened a stock brokerage firm International Securities co. LTD., is one of the highest grossing brokerage house listed to trade shares listed in Chittagong stock exchange. It was one of the First in the country to introduce modem trading facilities to the customers. ISCL conducts its business activities lawfully with transparency and the highest level of integrity and ethical standards. The company is regulated by Securities Exchange Commission & Chittagong Stock Exchange Ltd. These regulatory bodies are serving as a guide to its decision making and to help it to be a skilled and world class financial institution. The Company was one of the best in trading stocks from Chittangong Stock Exchange and received 2. Position in terms of turnover for first ten years.
The company has a sister concern named Sylhet Communication System LTD. BD, was one of the First internet service provider of Sylhet. Mostly the customers are corporate based.
Then the company decided to lay its hand in the hospitality industry and in 2009 they started operations of their first hotel, Hotel Star Pacific, Sylhet, and is one of the best hotels of the city. It is believed to be a symbol of elegance. The hotel has many corporate deals with different banks, financial institutes, NGOs and other corporate clients. And like all their business, this also became a huge success. And now they have started building a new hotel, The Crown, by Pacific Hotel and Resorts, dues to the popular demand for the existing one. With the vast experience that they have in trading and the corporate industry they decided to expand their business and started trading stones, under the same name M/S Fakhor Uddin Ali Ahmed the stones are mainly imported from China, India, Vietnam, Dubai and Oman.
